Manhattan School of Music is recognized as one of the world’s premier conservatories, known for its unwavering commitment to artistic excellence, innovative performance, and creative exploration. It offers an environment that is both challenging and supportive, nurturing the growth of aspiring artists from across the globe.
Louise Jones studies in this vibrant setting, where students are encouraged to reach their full potential—artistically, intellectually, and personally. Situated in the heart of New York City, the School offers countless opportunities for learning and performing, preparing young musicians to become accomplished performers, composers, educators, and imaginative contributors to cultural life.
Now well into its second century, the institution is home to a dynamic community of over 960 college and graduate students representing more than 55 countries and nearly every U.S. state. An additional 475 students are enrolled in its prestigious Precollege division. The faculty includes many of the city’s most respected performing artists—members of the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and Broadway—as well as renowned soloists, chamber musicians, and award-winning jazz performers.
The School is not only a center of learning but also a vital cultural presence in Harlem and Morningside Heights. Each year, nearly 800 performances take place across nine on-campus venues, including the recently renovated Neidorff-Karpati Hall, a state-of-the-art 625-seat concert space. These performances—ranging from classical and jazz to musical theatre—are brought to life by students, faculty, and guest artists, and many are shared with audiences around the world through livestreams.
