jun 29 - Summerconcert
aug 6 - Hemelse Duetten
Three musicians, connected in a remarkable way, present a concert featuring some of the most beautiful duets by Fauré, Bach, Pergolesi, Purcell, and Monteverdi. Together with Rob Petri and Gerard Leegwater, Louise will bring Heavenly Duets, on the 6th and 7th of august.
Rob Petri, baritone and countertenor, began his singing career at the age of six as a boy soprano with the North Holland Boys’ Choir, led by Hendrik Timmerman and based at the St. Laurens Church in Alkmaar. Until the age of 19, he studied privately with vocal coach Rebecca Stewart, and later participated in masterclasses with Emma Kirkby and Eliot Gardiner. He has performed extensively as a soloist in the Netherlands and abroad, including the United States, Russia, Poland, England, France, and Germany, collaborating with renowned artists such as Emma Kirkby, Kurt Equiluz, Yoshifumi Hata, and Max van Egmond. He contributed to various CD recordings, including St. Matthew Passion, Mozart’s Requiem, and Haydn’s Die Schöpfung.
Gerard Leegwater began his musical career at a young age with organ lessons from Hendrik Timmerman. At the age of 15, he became the organist for the North Holland Boys’ Choir, with whom he made numerous concert tours. He studied organ at the conservatory with Hans van Nieuwkoop and Jos van der Kooy, and continued with studies in choral conducting, church music, and later musicology at the University of Utrecht. During his musicology studies, he was taught by Jan Boogaarts and Gert Oost. As a conductor and organist, Gerard has been involved in many performances of oratorios, cantatas, and other works by J.S. Bach, such as the Passions, Hohe Messe, Christmas Oratorio, Magnificat, and motets, as well as Handel’s Messiah, C.P.E. Bach’s Die Auferstehung und Himmelfahrt Jesu, Mozart’s Requiem, and Duruflé’s Requiem.
